Dear Readers,
I wish to officially welcome you all to my CAS blog!
First, allow me to clear up any misunderstandings:
1. The 'IB' in my blog title stands for the International Baccalaureate, an international educational organisation which offers it diploma programme to over a million students world wide (that's in over 140 countries!) (<-- That is according to the official IB Organisation website, on which I accessed on today)
2. The 'CAS' part represents 'Creativity, Action, Service'. It is essentially part of the three major components which distinguish the International Bac. from any other educational system in the world! This core programme allows students to 'learn experimentally' so to say, i.e. learning by DOING! An IB student must participate in after-school activities which can be either to obtain a new skill or to further develop one which (s)he already has. These activities ought to therefore be either a creative one, a physical one or even one which benefits the local community!
I truly have no doubts that this part of the full diploma programme will be SUPER beneficial to us students! However --> it's supposed to run con-currently with your assignments and coursework! YIKES! Wouldn't that be too much distraction?
Now I am aware that I must learn to organise my time much more efficiently with school work, quality family time, social fun time and CAS! It certainly would not be an easy task but HEY! that is exactly why I am excited and thankful to be at this stage of my life --> where I am allowed (but not always welcomed!) to make mistakes, learn and stand up stronger than I did before!
So here I am! Writing my first piece to post officially onto my new IB CAS blog! In which I will hopefully continuously update as I embark on an adventurous journey in my last two years at school!
Have a nice day!
Evita ☺
